Thank you to the wonderful editors and staff at the Asian-Pacific Law & Policy Journal for the excellent Symposium and the opportunity to speak about the cannabis industry in Hawaii and about social equity for those adversely affected by the War on Drugs.
The panel was moderated by Co-EIC of the Journal, Kalina Nguyen Le and included myself and Hawaii State Representative Della Au Bellatti who has been involved in creating and regulating Hawaii’s cannabis industry since the beginning.
The conversation started with a brief overview of cannabis regulation in the United States and Hawaii, and then quickly roamed to cover everything from the state and future of Hawaii’s cannabis industry, current legislative approaches to social equity, and the difficulties with measuring drugged driving.
The Symposium covered a wide range of topics to celebrate the contributions of the Journal’s editors, authors, and law school supporters over the last twenty years. A full program is available here.
